To help me understand what training at the gym really is rather than turn up all the time without a plan of action. To get Fitter, Healthier and Improve my mental wellbeing. To gain confidence of going to the gym and not worry about how I’m looking compared to other gym-goers.

I struggle with mental health issues, anxiety, leading to a lack of confidence and self-belief that I can achieve results. I take things a day at the time. If I’m not “feeling the gym” I go out a walk or housework. Something active to lift mood.

Keith took his time to show me the correct ways to train. Correct posture, speed, warm-up exercises. When to increase reps/weight. Thanks to him, I have the building blocks for training at the gym or at home. I learned so many various exercises from him.

Before working with Keith I was going from really anxious being in a gym and not knowing what I should be doing to get fit (always just went on treadmill or bike and got bored easily), to having a great beginners knowledge on how to train properly, how to have fun/enjoyment in doing so, confidence to try new exercises, not worry about how I look compared to others in gym.

Keith takes his time with you. He fixes the training programme around your needs and won’t push you to do more than you are capable of doing. He also teaches you the correct posture and movements for each exercise so that you are doing it correct and achieve the results you seek.

I went to the gym for years on and off, with no idea what I was doing. I had no plan of action or any structure. No confidence in myself I felt out of place. Working with Keith has helped me immensely. Even though it was for 3 months, its 3 months learning that will last a lifetime. I still use variations of the training programme(s) from Keith when I go to Pure Gym Motherwell. I would highly recommend working with Keith. He’s a top, top personal trainer that focuses on what’s best for you. If I were to go back and get a personal trainer then Keith would be the 1st person I’d got to.

I looked for a personal trainer to help me get fitter and lose weight.

I struggled with portion control, snacking and confidence working out at the gym. Keith helped me understand food better and what my daily calorie intake should be and what my portions of food should look like. He also helped build my confidence at the gym with our workouts every week. Which helped me get fitter and understand my body better. With what I’ve learned from Keith in the past 8 months has helped me look at my old habits and ways that I can do to change them and all-round improve myself.

Keith has improved my life for the better and he’s really helped me on this journey, even when I thought I couldn’t do it myself. His knowledge of nutrition and fitness has helped me a lot. I have tried various slimming clubs and fad diets but Keith he’s made me look at the bigger picture and that there is more to losing weight. It’s about doing it healthily.

I didn’t feel great about myself, I’ve struggled with my weight over the past few years and I didn’t have a great knowledge of nutrition and what to do at the gym. But now I feel much better about myself, I feel that I can work out at any gym and not stress myself about what to do. I also feel more confident about meal prepping and overall food in general. I have a better understanding of my body and what I need to do moving forward.

Keith is understanding, approachable and just a genuine person. We had fun during our sessions together even when I wanted to cry and not want to do it anymore, he helped me push through and get to the end.

Anyone who is considering personal training with Keith, there is a lot that goes into personal training. It’s not just turning up and working out and then going home. They come home with you! Not physically obviously but they support you day to day, they help you through the struggles and help push you towards your goals. Even when you feel that you can’t yourself they are your personal cheerleader. But saying that they can only do so much for you. You need to put in the work as well, as much as they do for you.
